Technology entrepreneur and co-founder of multinational technology giant Apple, Steve Wozniak, has criticized Elon Musk, billionaire CEO of Tesla and also owner and CEO of Twitter, for failing to fulfill the promise to launch self-driving cars. In a recent interview with CNN, Wozniak said he had neither met nor spoken to the Tesla and Twitter boss but praised his efforts in encouraging electric vehicles use. Wozniak revealed that Musk first promised a self-driving car by 2016 which led him to upgrade his model with $50,000. Unfortunately, the car failed to deliver as promised. Another model was touted as being able to self drive at the end of 2017 which was also not fulfilled according to Wozniak.
Tesla Could be Deadly
Wozniak believes Elon Musk’s Tesla is an example of AI gone wrong, adding that the vehicle could kill. He warned people about how dangerous this technology could be if it fails and advised caution when investing in such technologies like autonomous driving cars until they have been tested properly and proven safe for use on roads.
A Study of AI Gone Wrong
Referring to the Tesla model as an example of artificial intelligence (AI) “gone wrong” due its potential danger if it fails while on the road; Wozniak said: “If you want a study of AI gone wrong and taking a lot of claims and trying to kill you every chance it gets — look at Tesla right now — I’m kind of concerned about what I see there.“
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, despite praising Elon Musk’s efforts in encouraging electric vehicles use; Steve Wozniaks still remains critical about him not delivering on his promises regarding self-driving cars which he warned could prove fatal if not tested properly before usage
